Chorlton Pickleball was formed in the summer of 2024 to help promote pickleball in Chorlton by a group of pickleball players who love the sport for its fun and inclusive nature. With the kind permission of McrActive (Manchester Council), pickleball courts were initially marked on the existing tennis courts in Chorlton Park. In the summer of 2025 McrActive further developed these courts as part of a resurface of the site and created 8 outdoor pickleball courts for use during club sessions and Chorlton Pickleball became Chorlton Pickleball Ltd. We continue to develop the club in this wonderful outdoor setting.
We currently hold adult recreational play sessions for members only at the following times:
In the future we hope to be able to offer additional evening sessions and also sessions for accompanied children from year 6 up
It is difficult to incorporate totally new players into recreational play sessions, so we do ask that people complete a taster session, or have existing pickleball experience, prior to becoming members and joining in with Rec Play sessions.
If you are new to pickleball, we regularly run taster sessions. These are £5 for approx 50 minutes and cover key rules, practice at specific shots that are important in pickleball, some important strategies that are unique to pickleball, and some time for game play (matches).
